The Love Sacks
The Love Sacks - Back-to-back Champions
Coming into the 2025 Thanksgimme Classic, The Love Sacks faced a mountain of pressure. As defending champions, the eyes of the entire fairway were on them. Sixty golfers teed off that morning under howling winds, each one determined to dethrone the reigning kings. But the quartet of John Rego, Brendan Kinnane, Riley Kinnane, and their fearless captain Michael Kinnane refused to flinch.
From the first tee to the final green, The Love Sacks played with precision, poise, and the quiet confidence of champions who’ve been there before. Shot after shot, they clawed their way to an astounding 10-under par, cementing their dominance and silencing any doubts.
The defining moment came when John Rego sank a clutch 10-foot birdie putt, surrounded by the roaring Peanut Gallery, a scene so intense that even Tiger Woods himself might have blinked. The crowd erupted, the green exploded in chaos, and the legend was born.
Moments later, the champions raised the Gimme Cup, drinking from its silver rim as a line of golfers formed to shake their hands. They had done what no other team had done before… The Love Sacks had gone back-to-back, becoming the first team in Thanksgimme history to do so.
Once known as the People’s Champions — now a full-blown Thanksgimme dynasty. Their names are forever etched on another plaque, one more gleaming piece of sacred real estate on the legendary Gimme Cup.
